The traditional atmosphere, the setting, especially the bath. In addition, the extremely helpful staff really made our stay pleasant. I recommend the Japanese breakfast if you want to experience high-end Japanese food!

Luck You Kyoto offers accommodation in Kyoto. Free luggage storage is available. The rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV. We just loved our stay at Luck You. Traveling for the first time in Japan as a family of 4 (with two younger kids aged 8 and 11) it was not easy finding ryokans and hotels that were suitable. But Luck You met and exceeded all our expectations. It was in a convenient and central location close to many restaurants and cafes. We booked the premier room that slept four and we found it to be large, light and clean. The futons were fun to sleep on (especially for the kids) and they reasonably comfortable (for futons!). You can ask for a second futon layer if you prefer the extra padding. Breakfast was simple but sufficient, and there were western and more traditional Japanese options. Where Luck You exceeded our expectations was the customer service - all staff members were very helpful and friendly and were happy to go above and beyond to make our stay a special one. We also appreciated the little charming touches in and around the ryokan such as the exquisite flower arrangements and the beautiful cotton kimonos and traditional clogs/slippers for use inside. And the kids loved the "Happy Hour" when they could make their own hot chocolates and sit in the ryokan lounge of an evening. In sum, Luck You was by far our best accommodation experience overall and it was a lovely gentle introduction to Japanese culture. We will definitely return.

Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in er 1000 ára gamalt búddahof og býður upp á gistirými í japönskum stíl, fallegan garð og ókeypis WiFi. Excellent location, close to Okunoin Temple and Cemetery. Room were clean and warm as it was freezing outside. Breakfast and Dinner were delicious. You could participate in the ceremonies conducted by the temple monks. The night tour was also informative.

Koyasan Shukubo Daimyouin er staðsett í Koyasan, í innan við 39 km fjarlægð frá Tama-safninu og í 39 km fjarlægð frá Kishi-stöðinni og býður upp á gistirými með garði og ókeypis WiFi. Everything! The atmosphere, the staff, the facilities and food! The food was incredibly delicious! The atmosphere is tranquil, and the staff is really kind as well!

Koyasan Shukubo Ryusenin er staðsett í Koyasan, 39 km frá Kishi-stöðinni og býður upp á útsýni yfir garðinn. Þetta 3 stjörnu ryokan-hótel er með garð og loftkæld herbergi með sameiginlegu baðherbergi.... Staying in a temple was a great experience. The temple was gorgeous, the monks were welcoming, the food was delicious, and the room was big and comfortable. We were invated to participate in the morning ceromony. I appreciated that they provided explanations afterwards so that we could fully enjoyed it.

Situated in Koyasan in the Wakayama region, 宿坊 光明院 features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. I thought the location and breakfast was great!

清浄心院 is situated in Koyasan, 45 km from Matsushita Park, 47 km from Subaru Hall, and 49 km from Jigenin Temple. It is set 39 km from Kishi Station and features full-day security. Love the location as it sits right next to Okunoin. Staff is very accommodating and welcoming. The temple is clean, room is nice and spacious. I also like the services and activities the temple offers for guests to participate during stay.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, 祇園の宿 杏花 is located in Kyoto, 300 metres from Gion Shijo Station and 600 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto. Amazing authentic place! Super clean and very well maintained

Shirahama no Yado Daigo er staðsett í Shirahama, í innan við 200 metra fjarlægð frá Shirahama-ströndinni og 1,2 km frá Ezura-ströndinni og býður upp á ókeypis WiFi hvarvetna á gististaðnum. The hostess (who's also the owner) was a very nice and friendly person. Breakfast was complimentary and the hostess even made breakfast by herself to guests every morning and it was delicious! The room is equipped with tatami floor and was super clean. There was no bed but instead futon was provided and you need to set it up by yourself at night which was interesting. It was a special experience to get a chance to sleep in a Japanese futon. If you don't know how to set it up they will help you too. The bathroom is big and equipments were new. The hotel is within 5 minutes walk to the beach. It's also close to a bus stop which takes you to surrounding sightseeing places. There are convenient store and supermarket within walking distance and you can buy fireworks there to play at the beach at night. If we come back to Shirahama in the future we will choose to stay here again.

Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. Provides accommodation located 600 metres from the centre of Kyoto and offers an open-air bath and a shared lounge. Spent the night here in Kyoto and wish I had booked another one! The staff is very friendly, prompt and kindly let us leave our bags before check-in and after check-out. The dinner option was also spectacular, with fluent english staff and a great pace to have a wagyu tasting.
